The series, produced by Story Productions for DR TV in Denmark, is set to premiere in April and has already been renewed for a second season on the Danish network.
Baluba TV in Sweden, ITV in Finland and Mastiff in Norway have also acquired the remake rights from Plimsoll Productions-owned UK distributor Magnify Media, which is handling international distribution.
The format sees five couples sent on a 10-day journey down a river on self-made rafts where romances are given opportunities to blossom in the great outdoors.
“When Story Productions pitched Love Raft we immediately saw the potential in the format. The brilliance lies in the combination of two topics that are intriguing to the viewers: love and the wild,” said Lasse Bjørch, commissioning editor at DR TV.
“The execution of the format is impeccable, which is why we’ve commissioned a second season.”
Magnify Media has distributed titles that include The Lion Queen (Fox), My Unique B & B (BBC1), The Women of 9/11 (ABC), Britain By Beach (Channel 4); and formats such as Handmade: Good with Wood (Channel 4), Doctors Vs Internet (NRK), Fittest Family (RTÉ) and Love Raft.
